Domes Noruz Chania is the smallest and most design-forward of the Domes Resorts properties on Crete. The 2016 opening followed an architectural brief inspired by Chania's historic Venetian shipyards — it was the first Greek resort honored for its interior and exterior design concept. With 83 rooms and suites all featuring a private plunge pool, Jacuzzi, or full private pool, the property positions itself at the top end of the Cretan luxury market. Every room at this resort has some form of private water feature, which is a real distinction.
The resort operates an adults-only (16+) policy. The atmosphere is explicitly social rather than serene: a resident DJ plays at the main pool from late morning, a second DJ set runs at the Raw Bar in the evenings, and the calendar includes beach parties, themed pool nights, and cocktail classes. Guests looking for absolute quiet and solitude may find the DJ-heavy programming at odds with their expectations for a luxury retreat — the Haute Living lounge and the quieter outdoor pool are the calmer alternatives, but the main pool skews lively.
Topos restaurant handles the food seriously — award-winning neo-Greek seafood focused on organic Cretan produce. The quinoa and octopus stifado and poached sea bass are the dishes most noted by guests. The Zamana Beach Club (added 2025) opened a beachfront option with DJ sets and sunset dinners. The Raw Bar's cocktail program is consistently praised — the Apallou mixologist team has won awards and the bar itself doubles as a sushi bar.
