Domes Aulūs Zante's most unusual feature is its location. The resort sits directly on Laganas Beach, which is part of a EU Natura 2000 protected zone designated for loggerhead (Caretta-caretta) sea turtle nesting. From June through August, sections of the beach close in the evening for nesting activity, and guests are asked to respect lighting and noise restrictions near the shoreline. For guests who care about wildlife conservation, this context makes the resort genuinely distinctive — the shallow, clear Ionian waters you're swimming in are also where turtles feed. For guests who want unrestricted beach access at all hours, the nesting season restrictions are worth knowing in advance.
The resort opened in 2022 after a €13.5 million renovation of the former Zante Beach Hotel. The Ultra All-Inclusive program covers five restaurants (two of which require reservations), four bars, and the KiEPOS Kids' Club for ages 4–12. The Cool Living Selection upgrade adds a private lounge, dedicated concierge, and premium services — a hotel-within-a-hotel format. Domes Resorts targets a younger, more style-conscious demographic than traditional all-inclusives, and the property design reflects that.
Who this suits: families with kids who want a premium all-inclusive in a unique natural setting, millennial and Gen Z couples who want a resort with character rather than generic luxury, and guests interested in sea turtle spotting as part of the experience. Who should look elsewhere: couples seeking a strictly adults-only environment (this is family-friendly), or guests who want an isolated, secluded beach with no wildlife-related beach restrictions.
