Diver's Paradise
The resort's PADI 5-star dive center and direct access to the world-class Calabas Reef make it an unparalleled destination for scuba diving and snorkeling enthusiasts.
Prime Waterfront Location
Guests consistently laud the resort's ideal location directly on the water, offering stunning views and easy access to both marine activities and a short walk to downtown Kralendijk.
Exceptional Staff
The friendly, accommodating, and well-trained staff receive frequent praise, enhancing the overall guest experience with their helpfulness and warmth.
Clean & Comfortable Stay
The resort maintains a high standard of cleanliness across its rooms and public areas, providing guests with comfortable accommodations and well-kept facilities.
Relaxing Pool & Beach
The two clean, mineral-based pools and the private, man-made beach with ample shade offer perfect spots for relaxation and enjoying the Caribbean sun.
Variable Dining Quality
Guests, particularly those not on an all-inclusive plan, occasionally find the food quality to be inconsistent or the buffet options overpriced, encouraging exploration of local eateries.
Room Condition & Assignment
While generally comfortable, some rooms may feel dated if not recently renovated, and there have been infrequent reports of booking or bed type assignment issues.
Minor Service Glitches
Occasional slow check-in experiences and sometimes limited availability of fresh towels are minor points of friction, though generally overshadowed by positive staff interactions.
Rocky Beach Entry
While offering direct water access, some guests note that the private beach is small and has a rocky entry, which might not suit all preferences for a sandy beach experience.

Divi Dive Bonaire
PADI
Divi Flamingo is where divers stay in Bonaire. The PADI 5-star Divi Dive Bonaire operation is right on the property, and the Calabas Reef — the resort's house reef, accessible by walking into the water from the private beach — is consistently cited among the best shore dives in the entire Caribbean. You can log multiple dives per day without ever getting on a boat. For this reason, Divi Flamingo draws a very specific guest: certified divers who want maximum water time, minimum travel overhead.
The resort welcomes families with a kids' playground and the Divi Pirate Crew activities program. But the overwhelming guest majority are divers, often traveling in groups. The "barefoot casino" designation is a quirk — Bonaire's only casino, and genuinely casual. The downtown Kralendijk restaurants and shops are a five-minute walk, which gives the resort a less isolated feel than many Caribbean properties.
The honest drawback is the food. Multiple guest reviews describe the buffet and à la carte options as "so-so" or overpriced relative to the local restaurants walkable from the resort. Guests with all-inclusive packages frequently supplement with meals in Kralendijk rather than eating exclusively on-property. If food is a primary vacation priority, this resort will disappoint. If underwater time is the priority, the food criticism barely matters.
Practically: 129 rooms across three categories, renovated in 2016–2017 with updates in 2019. Studios have kitchenettes and dive lockers on the pier — purpose-built for dive groups. Flamingo International Airport is 1.6 miles away. The private beach is man-made and carved into coral, so it's small and the entry has some rocky sections. Both pools use mineral-based purification rather than chlorine.
