Exceptional Butler Service
The personalized and attentive butler service, including in-villa meal preparation, cocktail service, and booking assistance, is a recurring highlight.
Extensive All-Inclusive
The sheer breadth of the all-inclusive package, especially the full access to the larger Club Med La Plantation d'Albion's diverse facilities, is highly valued.
High-Quality Dining
The variety and quality of food, from gourmet buffets to specialty restaurants and in-villa catering, along with the open bar, receive strong positive feedback.
Outstanding Staff
The friendly, attentive, and professional nature of the staff, including butlers and concierge, is frequently cited as a major contributor to a fantastic holiday.
Diverse Activities
The vast array of included land and water sports, from sailing and snorkeling to flying trapeze and golf, ensures entertainment for all ages and interests.
Beach Condition
Prospective guests are frequently cautioned about the beach at Albion, which is not typical of Mauritius's pristine white sands due to algae and occasional odors.
Early Bar Closures
The beach and pool bars closing relatively early, around 6 pm, might be a drawback for guests desiring later afternoon or early evening drinks by the water.
Minor Pest Nuisances
Some reviews mention the presence of snails and wasps in certain outdoor areas, which could cause discomfort for sensitive guests.
Extra Costs for Premium Services
While comprehensive, the 'all-inclusive' does not cover all premium services like spa treatments, scuba diving, advanced childcare for toddlers, or specific top-shelf beverages, which should be budgeted for.

The Albion Villas operates as a satellite to Club Med La Plantation d'Albion: 23 standalone villas, each with a private overflow pool, a landscaped garden with lighting, and a dedicated butler who handles daily breakfast, afternoon tea, and any logistics you'd rather not think about. The villas come in two-, three-, and four-bedroom configurations (the largest sleep up to 12), which makes this one of the more practical options in the Indian Ocean for multi-generational families or groups who want genuine separation from the main hotel crowd while still having access to extensive shared facilities.
This is a good fit for couples or families who want the structure of a Club Med all-inclusive — consistent food quality, kids' clubs, nightly shows, sports instruction — without being in the thick of a 400-room resort. The villa compound provides real seclusion; you won't hear pool speakers from your garden. That said, if you're someone who wants to be at the center of resort energy, you'll feel like you're commuting to it. The main resort's facilities are a short walk, but the separation is real.
The honest drawback here is the beach. Albion's cove is natural and visually striking — red volcanic rock, coral-flecked sand — but guests consistently describe it as one of the weaker beaches on the island. Seaweed and algae accumulate, particularly in summer months, and the sand isn't the powdery white you'll find at other Mauritius resort beaches. If a pristine beach is the top priority, plan on day excursions to the north or east coast.
Practically: the 23 villas are rated 5-Trident (Club Med's top tier), and the all-inclusive covers full access to La Plantation d'Albion's restaurants, bars, sports facilities, and kids' clubs. Children aged 4–10 and 11–17 are included free; the 2–3 year Petit Club Med program costs extra. Airport transfers from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (MRU) take 53–60 minutes. Pricing sits at the high end of the Club Med portfolio — expect to pay meaningfully more than a standard Trident property.
The main resort was renovated in 2022, which added a Zen pool and refreshed the beach bar. Book a sea-view villa if available; the garden-view units are pleasant but the sea-view gardens reportedly benefit from better landscaping. November through April is the warm, humid season — June to September is cooler and drier with occasional strong winds. Comparable properties in the region include Constance Belle Mare Plage for a less structured, higher-end alternative.
