#22 in All-inclusive Hotels in Europe

Club Med Opio en Provence distinguishes itself from the rest of the European Club Med portfolio with two things: a 9-hole golf course that runs through an active olive grove producing the resort's own olive oil, and the CREACTIVE by Cirque du Soleil program — up to 30 acrobatic and artistic activities in a dedicated circus space. This combination of rural Provençal setting and genuine circus school makes it a genuinely unusual all-inclusive, particularly for families who want something more active than a beach resort.
This is the right resort for families with children aged 4 and up who want a full activity program in a scenic setting. The Provençal hills location means fresh air, walking trails, and a slower pace than a beach property. The Golf restaurant dinner — truffle risotto, grilled sea bass, Tropézienne pie on a shaded terrace looking over the olive grove — is the best meal the property offers. Adults who want quiet should find the adults-only Zen Pool tucked in the olive grove; it's genuinely peaceful.
Two honest drawbacks: first, the resort is large and spread out with many stairs between buildings, making it physically demanding for guests with mobility issues or those pushing strollers. Guest reviews frequently mention the hills. Second, some rooms have been described as dated or inconsistent — the 2017 renovation improved most, but the property is still aging in places. Room quality varies by building, and some guests report bathroom maintenance issues. Request newer buildings at booking if this matters.
Practically: 435 rooms in Provençal-style bungalows across 10 buildings, 24 km from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE) — about 30 minutes. The resort hosts corporate events that can affect noise levels, particularly midweek in shoulder season. Baby Club (4–23 months) and Petit Club (2–3 years) cost extra. Day passes sold to non-guests can add to pool crowding during summer.
