Diverse Water Sports
The resort is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts, offering a wide range of complimentary activities like water-skiing, wakeboarding, and sailing with highly praised, professional, and safety-conscious teams.
Family-Focused Amenities
Club Med excels in providing extensive Kids' Clubs for all ages and a dedicated family pool with a splash zone, slides, and water jets, making it an ideal destination for families.
Gourmet Dining Experience
Guests enjoy a high-quality dining experience featuring a delicious blend of European and local specialties, made-to-order options, and thoughtful touches like a baby corner, available at both the main and beachside restaurants.
Idyllic Tropical Setting
The resort's location on a beachfront peninsula, surrounded by lush gardens and boasting two beautiful, wind-protected beaches with fine sand and clear water, consistently receives top marks for its picturesque scenery.
Relaxing Adults-Only Zen Zone
The tranquil Zen Zone, complete with a quiet infinity pool and the Lazuli Bar offering stunning ocean views, is highly valued by adults seeking peaceful relaxation away from family areas.
Coral Health for Snorkeling
While marine life is present and diving is possible, guests note that the coral directly around the immediate resort area is damaged, which might temper expectations for pristine coral reef snorkeling.
Extra Costs for Select Services
Although largely all-inclusive, guests should be aware that premium activities such as spa treatments, scuba diving, golf, and off-resort excursions come with additional fees.
Fees for Youngest Kids' Clubs
Families with toddlers should budget for the extra cost associated with Baby Club Med (4-23 months) and Petit Club Med (2-3 years), as these are not included in the standard package unlike clubs for older children.
Saturday Staff Schedule
Activity enthusiasts should note that Saturdays are often a resting day for staff, which may lead to reduced availability of some staff-led resort activities and makes it a good day for external excursions.

Club Med La Pointe aux Canonniers occupies the tip of a peninsula in Grand Baie, Mauritius's busiest northern resort town. The property first opened in 1972 as one of Club Med's earliest Caribbean-style properties, and the 2018–2019 major renovation produced what is effectively a new resort on the same footprint. The location on a peninsula means sea views from multiple orientations, but it also means the resort is surrounded by Grand Baie's busy marine traffic — the water immediately around the point isn't a lagoon swim zone.
The defining feature of La Pointe aux Canonniers is the water sports program: waterskiing, wakeboarding, sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, and stand-up paddleboarding are all included in the all-inclusive rate. This is the most complete motorized water sports offering in Club Med's Indian Ocean portfolio. For guests who came specifically to improve wakeboarding or waterskiing technique, the included instruction and equipment access represents significant value.
The honest caveat about the water: the reef directly around the resort is damaged and doesn't offer good snorkeling. For quality reef snorkeling, guests need to take a boat to offshore sites — excursions are available but cost extra. Don't base a booking decision here on in-resort snorkeling quality.
The resort is compact compared to La Plantation d'Albion — three room categories (Superior, Deluxe, Suite) without the villa option. The simplicity is either a strength or a limitation depending on your group. For couples and small families wanting a classic Club Med experience with strong water sports and a good kids' program, the stripped-down room tier works. Groups needing villa space should look at La Plantation instead.
Practical context: Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is 65–72 km away, a 60–75 minute transfer depending on traffic. Grand Baie town is immediately adjacent to the resort — walking access to shops and restaurants outside the property is possible but Grand Baie is not a particularly attractive pedestrian environment.
