Restaurant Crowding
While food quality is excellent, the main buffet restaurant can experience crowding and disorganized queuing, especially during peak dining hours.
Potential Noise
Light sleepers should be aware that rooms not facing the main entrance might be preferable to avoid potential early morning noise from piste bashers.
Limited Vending Machine Options
Guests noted the absence of soda or coke in vending machines, requiring a visit to the bar for these specific beverage choices.
Ski Lesson Group Homogeneity
On occasion, the mix of ability levels within group ski lessons has been broad, which can be challenging for instructors and potentially impact the learning pace for some individuals.

The Grand Massif ski area is the resort's primary draw — fourth-largest in France, with 265 km of pisted runs connecting Samoëns, Morillon, Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, Flaine, and Les Carroz. The ski-in/ski-out access is genuine: the Chalet-Apartments connect directly to the slopes, and the resort's positioning in Samoëns village gives skiers access to terrain that serious skiers actually want. This is not beginner terrain retrofitted for a resort; it's a full-scale ski area that the all-inclusive happens to sit in.
The Skyline Gourmet Lounge menu, designed by 2-Michelin-star chef Édouard Loubet, is the dining differentiator. His influence runs through the discovery dinner menu — homemade foie gras, cheese fondue, raclette, Arctic char — and the quality reads as genuine. Reserve for Skyline dinner at check-in; it operates on reservation and priority goes to Suite and Chalet guests. Bread & Co., winter-only, runs as an interactive kids' kitchen where children cook for their parents at dinner — specific and unusual.
The Chalet-Apartments (2-bedroom at 861–915 sq ft, 3-bedroom at 1,055–1,119 sq ft, 5-bedroom at 2,077 sq ft) are the premium accommodation category. Each includes a dedicated chalet host, equipped kitchen, hanging fireplace, home cinema, private ski locker, daily continental breakfast room service, and champagne at 6 PM. For families or groups who want the all-inclusive program without the hotel-corridor feeling, these are the reason to choose Samoëns over other Club Med mountain properties.
The honest limitation: Geneva (GVA) is approximately 1 hour to 1:10 by car — a straightforward transfer. But peak ski weeks in February fill this resort to capacity, and the Skyline Gourmet Lounge reservation slots go quickly. Non-skiers can get value from the indoor pool, spa, and summer program (hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing), but if your reason to book is skiing, this is optimized for that. The ski instruction is primarily through ESF instructors and is solid for beginners through intermediates; the Grand Massif terrain can challenge experts meaningfully.
No beach — this is an inland mountain resort. Two pools: indoor (year-round) and outdoor (summer only). Club Med Spa by Sothys with 11 treatment rooms — book treatments on arrival day.
