  • Modern Luxury & Ambiance

The recent full renovation provides a fresh, clean, and genuinely luxurious adults-only environment with contemporary design and a peaceful atmosphere.

  • High-Quality Food Variety

The diverse and delicious culinary offerings, particularly the buffet with themed nights and the quality of ingredients, are frequently highlighted as a major strength.

  • Clean & Comfortable Rooms

The hotel maintains impeccable cleanliness throughout, and rooms are consistently lauded for being spacious, modern, and featuring comfortable memory foam beds.

  • Stunning Ocean Views

The clifftop location offers breathtaking panoramic ocean views, providing a picturesque backdrop for relaxation by the pools.

Guests Warn

  • Half-Board Drink Costs

Guests on a half-board plan frequently express frustration over being charged for drinks, including water, during dinner, a detail often poorly communicated.

  • Secluded Location & Beach Access

While offering tranquility, the hotel's clifftop location means there is no immediate beach access, requiring transport to reach better swimming spots.

  • Sunbed Availability

Popular sunbeds, especially those with sea views or Balinese beds, can fill up quickly, necessitating early arrival to secure a preferred spot.

  • Inconsistent Service

Although overall service is excellent, isolated reports of slow or inconsistent service at the pool bar suggest potential minor staffing issues at times.

Overview

The Bahia Principe Luxury Tenerife is not a renovation—it's a full repositioning. The former Bahia Principe Tenerife (family-friendly, opened 2001) is reopening in December 2025 as a dedicated adults-only (16+) property under the Luxury brand, with 268 redesigned rooms, new restaurant concepts, and a visual identity built around Tenerife's volcanic and Atlantic coastal character. It becomes the first adults-only Bahia Principe in the Canary Islands.

The clifftop location in Playa Paraiso, Costa Adeje provides panoramic Atlantic Ocean views and is within a 3-minute walk of Playa Las Salinas—a small beach that is closer than typical for Canary Islands clifftop hotels. The 'Club' room category unlocks access to a private infinity pool, which combined with the clifftop position, is the property's most distinctive visual asset.

Cross-property access with the adjacent Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje is included for Luxury Tenerife guests—bars, à la carte restaurants (excluding buffets), and adult-only pool areas. This is a meaningful extension of dining variety given the relatively small number of on-site specialty restaurants.

One practical note: all-inclusive guests receive one à la carte dinner reservation per seven-night stay at the standard rate. Guests planning a week-long stay with specialty dining nightly will need to either upgrade or accept the buffet for most evenings. Confirm the current policy at check-in as the property is reopening and policies may be refined.

The hotel is approximately 25 km (25–40 minutes) from Tenerife South Airport (TFS). Costa Adeje has buses and reasonable taxi fares for guests who want to explore the wider resort strip, but the resort's hilltop location means car rental is the most practical option for extended island exploration.

Pros

  • +Newly repositioned adults-only property (December 2025) with fully redesigned rooms—no dated furniture or worn facilities from the prior family-hotel era.
  • +The Club infinity pool with Atlantic views is the strongest single amenity argument for the property.
  • +Memory foam beds and spacious balconies receive specific positive mentions in early reviews.
  • +Entertainment program variety—live music, cultural shows, local workshops—is consistently praised.

Cons

  • −Standard all-inclusive guests receive only one à la carte specialty dinner per seven-night stay—this limits dining variety significantly and should be factored into the booking decision.
  • −The clifftop location means car rental or taxis for exploring beyond walking distance—bus access exists but is limited from this specific location.
  • −Atlantic ocean swimming conditions at Playa Las Salinas are more variable than Caribbean beach conditions—check seasonal wave forecasts before planning beach days.

Tips

  • Book the Canarian Restaurant on arrival day—it's the most contextually specific specialty option and fills first.
  • Opt for the Club room category if the infinity pool view is important—it's the property's visual centerpiece and standard rooms don't have access.
  • Confirm the current à la carte reservation policy for standard guests at check-in—post-opening policies may have changed from pre-opening descriptions.
  • The free bus service to Playa de las Américas runs from the resort—useful for a day in the main Costa Adeje resort strip without renting a car.
