Outstanding Staff
Guests consistently laud the exceptional friendliness, efficiency, and attentiveness of the staff, who are noted for going above and beyond.
Pristine Environment
The resort is highly praised for its immaculate grounds, common areas, pools, and consistently spotless rooms, reflecting meticulous upkeep.
Beautiful Beach & Pools
The gorgeous beach with soft sand and calm waters, alongside a variety of well-maintained pools including a popular water park, receives significant acclaim.
Family-Friendly Fun
The resort excels in providing family-oriented amenities, especially the on-site water park, kids' clubs, and diverse activities tailored for children.
Exceptional Value
Many guests feel the resort offers a comprehensive all-inclusive experience that delivers great value for money, surpassing expectations without being overly expensive.
Dated Rooms
Despite renovations in some areas, many guests report that rooms can be dated, worn, or suffer from minor maintenance issues like poor lighting or mold.
Food Quality & Reservations
While variety is present, buffet food can be perceived as repetitive or overly salty, and securing timely reservations for à la carte restaurants is a common challenge.
Beach Distance
The Turquesa section is the furthest from the beach within the complex, requiring guests to use a shuttle for access, which can be an inconvenience for some.
Minor Annoyances
Guests occasionally encounter issues like mosquitoes, limited loungers during peak times, and persistent sales pitches or vendors, which can detract from the experience.

Bahia Principe Grand Turquesa is specifically positioned within the Bahia Principe Bavaro complex as the family resort — it's the property closest to the dedicated children's water park and mini-golf facilities. That proximity is the practical reason to choose Turquesa over Grand Bavaro or Grand Punta Cana for families with young children who plan to spend significant time at those facilities. Cross-complex access to 14 restaurants includes Las Olas Beach House specialty venues and Grand Punta Cana restaurants.
Families with children under 12 get the most from this property. The water park access, kids club, and family suite configurations are genuinely well-suited to multi-generational travel. The main infinity pool with swim-up bar gets positive reviews, and the quieter Turquesa pool provides an alternative when the main pool is busy. An adults-only pool zone exists for guests who want occasional separation from the family areas.
The most honest drawback is the beach distance: Turquesa is described as the furthest resort from Arena Gorda Beach within the complex. The shuttle runs frequently, but it adds time and logistical management to every beach visit. If daily beach access without shuttle dependence matters, Grand Bavaro's direct beachfront is a better choice. Pack mosquito repellent — it's flagged consistently enough to treat as mandatory rather than optional.
Opened in 2005 with the last major renovation in 2015, some room blocks are showing their age — particularly older sections with dated furnishings and occasional mold reports. The 2015 renovation left the property partially updated. Two room categories: standard Junior Suite Superior and Family Master Suite (two interconnected rooms for larger groups). The resort is 21–25 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ).
