Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana is the anchor property of the Bahia Principe Bavaro cluster — 1,428 rooms, direct access to Arena Gorda Beach, and a dining and entertainment network shared across the Grand Bavaro and Grand Turquesa sister hotels next door. It opened in 2003 and is currently in a phased renovation that began in late 2023 and is scheduled to continue through 2025. This context matters: the property you book today includes a mix of recently renovated rooms and unrenovated blocks, with active construction in some public areas.
The main practical advantage of Grand Punta Cana over the other Bavaro complex properties is its central position — it originated the complex and remains the largest single property. Cross-property access to specialty restaurants and facilities across Grand Bavaro and Grand Turquesa is included. For guests who want the widest possible dining variety, this works well.
