The Westin Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta is about to become something entirely different. On May 1, the property will reopen as The Westin Playa Vallarta, an All-Inclusive Resort, marking the first Westin-branded all-inclusive in Mexico.

The transformation includes 281 redesigned suites, some with private plunge pools and select swim-up options. The property's dining lineup has been overhauled with six restaurants, four of them open-air, grouped under what the resort calls its Gourmet Gallery. A new Flora Mixology Bar will specialize in botanical cocktails.

Wellness is a major focus. The redesigned Westin Heavenly Spa anchors the property's wellness programming, which will include curated fitness activities and beachfront sessions. The spa sits alongside the brand's signature sleep and movement programs, a core part of JW and Westin properties across Marriott's all-inclusive portfolio.

Rates start around $423 per night for two guests. That positions the resort firmly in the premium tier of Puerto Vallarta's competitive all-inclusive market, where properties like Marriott Puerto Vallarta and Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta already operate.

The conversion reflects a broader industry shift. Marriott has been aggressively expanding its all-inclusive footprint across Latin America and the Caribbean, adding brands like Westin, JW Marriott, and Autograph Collection to a segment once dominated by specialist operators. For Puerto Vallarta, it means another premium option for travelers who want upscale service without managing a la carte bills.
