The Botany on St. Thomas Opens Spring 2027 Bookings for 20 Villas

The Botany is now accepting reservations for spring 2027 stays on the western tip of St. Thomas, opening a 20-villa resort inside the 300-acre Preserve at Botany Bay in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Earlier plans pointed at a winter 2026 debut. The live booking message is spring 2027, which is the date travelers should plan around until the resort publishes a firmer first-arrival day. The product itself is unchanged in spirit: a low-key count, private villa layouts, and a west-end location near Mermaid's Chair, where the Caribbean and Atlantic meet.

What the 20 villas actually offer

Villas are designed around the landscape, with vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, floor-to-ceiling glass, and Native Virgin Islands blue volcanic stone. Indoor and outdoor showers are standard in the marketing brief. Select two- and three-bedroom residences add private pools, which is the category most couples and small families will hunt first.

Shared amenities stay intentionally small: two resort pools, a three-treatment-room spa, a boutique, a fitness center, and an open-air yoga pavilion. That is not a mega-resort checklist. It is a stay built for guests who want the room and the coastline to do most of the work.

Dining and on-property experiences

The signature restaurant, Ginger Thomas, is named for the island's national flower and is positioned as contemporary Caribbean fine dining. A coffee shop will handle specialty coffee, light bites, grab-and-go, and build-to-order beach picnics, with a bar at each pool for lower-key evenings.

Before arrival, a dedicated team is supposed to shape the stay around guest interests. The published experience list includes island-hopping, dinner sails, candlelit beach rituals, private beach dinners, and sunrise programs. Who should book this versus a bigger St. Thomas hotel

Book The Botany if you want privacy, a west-end base, and sustainability features the resort is putting up front: predominant solar power for much of the year and rainwater collection across villas and public spaces. Skip it if you need a large entertainment campus, walkable shopping, or a conventional all-inclusive buffet program. This is not that product.
