Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort is bringing buffet dining back through Hinahina on the Beach, its new oceanfront restaurant. The resort's October 20 announcement sets November 6 for the dinner buffet's return, following the resumption of breakfast buffet service after more than six years.

Hinahina combines the former Kai Market and The Edge of Waikiki Bar into one all-day venue. For guests returning to a familiar hotel, that changes both the restaurant name to look for and the way to plan meals beside the water.

Which meals are available now?

The restaurant's own website lists breakfast daily from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Breakfast includes an omelet station and island-influenced options such as fried rice and pineapple upside-down pancakes.

Lunch is an à la carte meal, with choices including poke bowls. Dinner service is also underway, but travelers arriving before November 6 should distinguish an operating dinner restaurant from the scheduled buffet return.

Our advice for a family choosing dates is to make that distinction before promising a particular meal format. A buffet can simplify feeding a group with different appetites, while a table-service dinner involves a different pace and menu.

Do you need a reservation?

Hinahina's website says breakfast operates first come, first served. It accepts and encourages lunch and dinner reservations, especially for preferred times. The open-air restaurant is on the lobby level, beside the beach and near the Edge Infinity Pool.

Visitors can reach it from the lobby or the beach. The restaurant welcomes families and offers children's menu options, so its location near the infinity pool should not be confused with an adults-only dining policy.

What does this change about choosing the resort?

Sheraton Waikiki remains a large beachfront hotel with 1,636 rooms and suites. Its pool choices include the Edge pool and the family-oriented Helumoa complex, with waterslides and other water features.

The dining change adds convenience to a stay, but does not establish an all-inclusive meal plan. Check whether breakfast is included in the exact room rate you select, then budget separately for other meals. If the November dinner buffet is central to your plans, confirm its current schedule directly before reserving a table.
