RAAYA and VARU Add Glenelly Wine Evenings, Included With Advance Reservations
RAAYA and VARU by Atmosphere will host six Glenelly wine experiences in December, included for guests on their resort plans who reserve places in advance.
RAAYA by Atmosphere and VARU by Atmosphere will host a six-event Glenelly Estate wine programme from December 4 to 10, the operator announced on October 26. The evenings are complimentary for in-house guests on the RAAYA Plan and VARU Plan, with prior reservation required.
Which dates belong to each island?
RAAYA hosts the first three gatherings. December 4 brings a Stellenbosch-themed evening to The Village. On December 5, the programme moves to Seb's Farm for an outdoor food-and-wine gathering. December 6 shifts to AMPERS&ND for a sunset event with canapés and live food stations.
VARU takes over on December 8 with a dinner at KAAGE combining Glenelly wines and local culinary traditions. NU hosts the December 9 dinner, before the visit concludes at Bay Rouge Bar on December 10 with canapés and live stations. These are separate resort schedules, so choose the island and dates that match the evening you want.
What makes this different from the usual drinks list?
Glenelly representative Nina-Mari Bruwer will host the visit. The programme is built around wines from the Stellenbosch estate and how they work with different dishes and settings, from a restaurant dinner to an outdoor gathering. It is the fourth collaboration in this wine-and-gastronomy series, rather than a new permanent restaurant opening.
For a guest already considering an all-inclusive stay, the appeal is a scheduled wine experience within the resort plan. That is more specific than a general promise of included drinks. The announcement does not publish bottle-by-bottle menus, however, so travellers with a particular vintage or dietary requirement in mind should ask before reserving.
What should you arrange before booking?
Reserve the event as well as the accommodation. Complimentary participation is expressly tied to the relevant plan and advance booking; it should not be treated as automatic access on arrival. Ask the resort to confirm the evening, party size and any dining adjustments together.
RAAYA is in Raa Atoll, while VARU is in North Male Atoll and advertises a speedboat transfer of about 45 minutes. Those are different holiday bases within the Maldives. Compare the transfer arrangements and villa category alongside the event dates, particularly for a short trip where travel time has a larger effect on the stay.
