A Luxury Hotel Brand Just Hit a Major Construction Milestone on Its First-Ever Caribbean Resort
Pendry Hotels & Resorts celebrated the topping off of Pendry Barbados, an 80-room oceanfront resort with a private marina and residences from $2.7 million, ahead of its 2027 opening.
Pendry Hotels & Resorts has reached a significant construction milestone on its first-ever Caribbean property. The brand celebrated the topping off of Pendry Barbados on April 23, marking the completion of the resort's structural framework as it moves toward a 2027 opening.
Located along Barbados' northwest coastline near historic Speightstown — on the stretch known as the Platinum Coast — the resort will feature 80 oceanfront guestrooms and suites. The property is being designed in partnership with architect Robert Glazier and the award-winning Studio Munge.
Beyond the hotel rooms, Pendry Barbados will include Spa Pendry, multiple dining concepts ranging from a signature restaurant to dockside venues overlooking a private 110-berth marina, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and family-focused amenities including the Paintbox Children's Club and Compass Sports program. A dedicated Celebration Building will house event spaces for weddings and gatherings.
The development also includes 46 private Pendry Residences — whole-ownership homes ranging from two to five bedrooms, starting at $2.7 million. Select ground-floor residences will feature private gardens and infinity-edge pools. The marina will be home to Pendry Yacht Club, the brand's first-of-its-kind offering.
"Barbados represents an exciting next chapter for Pendry as we prepare to open the first Pendry in the Caribbean," said Michael Fuerstman, co-founder of Pendry Hotels & Resorts. "The island's vibrant culture, strong sense of community and stunning coastline made it a natural fit."
Pendry is part of Montage International, and while the brand has grown across the mainland U.S. — with properties in San Diego, Chicago, and Park City — this Caribbean debut signals its push into the luxury resort market beyond North America. Residences and marina berths are already available for purchase.
