Paséa Hotel & Spa has appointed Kunal Chakrabarti general manager, placing a new leader in charge as the Huntington Beach resort prepares its final renovation phase. The October 21 announcement puts completion of the wider $17 million programme in early 2028.

For guests, the appointment comes with a useful reminder about timing. Paséa's coastal dining and pool updates are already part of its recent history, while further work on rooms and shared spaces remains ahead. A reservation during that period deserves questions about the particular dates and room being booked.

What is still due to change?

The final phase covers guest rooms, corridors, the lobby, spa, and meeting and event spaces. Stylo Haus is leading the interiors. The announcement describes refreshed finishes and gathering areas, but does not supply a detailed construction calendar for each part of the hotel.

The programme began in 2024 with a $5 million investment that brought Lōrea restaurant and bar, a refreshed Treehouse on PCH rooftop venue, and the redesigned Ninth Island Pool. Those earlier changes should be distinguished from the work now planned through early 2028.

Who is taking charge of the resort?

Chakrabarti brings nearly three decades in luxury hospitality, including roles with Ritz-Carlton and Marriott. His most recent position was leading operations at The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey. At Paséa, his remit includes daily operations, department leadership and the guest experience.

A management announcement cannot tell a traveler how quiet a particular room will be. It does identify who is responsible for running the property through the changes, and gives returning guests a reason to check how the next stay will differ from the last.

What should you ask before a Huntington Beach stay?

Request the work schedule for your dates, including expected daytime noise and any temporary changes to spa or event access. Ask whether the room category you want has been renovated, and what happens if the location or facilities change after booking.

Then compare the complete bill. Paséa operates as a coastal hotel with separately priced dining and services, so a resort fee is not a meal plan. Check the current fee, parking and cancellation conditions alongside the room rate, particularly when comparing a short beach break with an all-inclusive holiday elsewhere.
