Marriott International has signed a multiyear agreement with ResortPass, a day-access booking platform, to sell pool, spa, and cabana access to non-guests at select properties around the world.

The deal, announced May 27, makes ResortPass an approved vendor across Marriott's global portfolio. Amenities in scope include pools, wellness facilities, lounges, and curated experiences, along with optional add-ons like massages, facials, and food and beverage packages at participating hotels.

For Marriott, the math is straightforward: resort amenities sit underused during off-peak hours, and day passes turn empty pool chairs into revenue. ResortPass provides the dynamic pricing tools and operational support to make it work without adding overhead for hotel staff.

The concept is not new — independent resorts and boutique hotels have sold day passes for years — but having the world's largest hotel company formalize the arrangement signals that ancillary revenue is becoming a core strategy, not a side project. Properties in destinations like Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Hawaii stand to benefit most, where resort pools and beach clubs are major draws.

Marriott hasn't named specific brands or properties yet, and details on Marriott Bonvoy integration remain unclear. But the direction is unmistakable: hotels are no longer just selling rooms. The Marriott Cancun and Marriott Puerto Vallarta all-inclusive resorts, which already draw strong leisure demand, could be early candidates for the program.
