A Spanish Hotel Group Just Opened Three Punta Cana All-Inclusives at Once — With a 417-Foot Pool
Lopesan welcomed its first guests to three connected resorts in the Dominican Republic, a $350 million bet that adds more than 1,000 rooms to Punta Cana.
Lopesan Hotel Group has opened three new all-inclusive resorts on the same stretch of coastline in Punta Cana, welcoming its first guests to what is now the Spanish company's largest Caribbean development. The trio — Lopesan Caoba Lagoon Resort Spa & Casino, Lopesan Serenity Bay Spa & Casino and Lopesan Splash Cove Spa & Casino — represents an investment of more than $350 million and adds 1,035 rooms to the company's Dominican Republic portfolio.
Rather than build one hotel meant to serve every kind of traveler, Lopesan split the project into three properties with distinct identities. Caoba Lagoon is the centerpiece, a 554-room resort wrapped around a lagoon-style pool that runs 127 meters — roughly 417 feet — past 10 waterfalls and cenote-inspired water features. It also houses a new convention center built for more than 2,000 attendees, giving the complex a serious foothold in Punta Cana's meetings and events market.
Serenity Bay is the adults-only member of the group, with 239 rooms and a quieter mix of pools, wellness spaces and private dining. Splash Cove, at 242 rooms, is the family resort, built around a wave pool and a full water park.
What ties them together is The Boulevard, an open-air promenade of restaurants, bars, shops and nightlife that includes an 820-seat theater and a casino. Guests can pick a hotel that fits their trip while sharing amenities across the wider campus, so a wedding party could book couples at Serenity Bay and families at Splash Cove without splitting up.
The openings give Lopesan four resort concepts in Punta Cana, joining the established Lopesan Costa Bávaro. The company says the complex created about 700 jobs at launch, a figure it expects to pass 1,100 once fully running, and it is pursuing AAA Four Diamond recognition for all three hotels.
