One of the more distinctive adults-only hotels on Panama's Caribbean coast has joined a major luxury collection. La Coralina Island House, a 31-room retreat near Paunch Beach in the Bocas del Toro archipelago, is now part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, which also means guests can book it and earn or redeem Hilton Honors points.

The property sits on Isla Colon, along the route toward Bluff Beach, with Balinese-inspired villas, teak and stone interiors, and wooden walkways threading through tropical gardens. Accommodations run from standard rooms to ocean-view deluxe rooms and villas, some with private plunge pools or Jacuzzis facing the sea.

Wellness is the anchor. La Coralina runs yoga, meditation, breathwork, sound healing, and cacao ceremonies out of a dedicated shala, alongside a spa and multi-day retreat programming, a deeper calendar than most small Caribbean properties offer. Dining centers on The Coralina Restaurant, where the menu leans on local seafood, Panamanian flavors, and produce from nearby suppliers.

The SLH affiliation gives the independent hotel an international reservations platform and member perks while keeping its own identity. It also adds another distribution channel for Bocas del Toro, an island region better known for reef breaks, water taxis, and marine parks than for big-box resorts. Rates have been running as low as $281 a night, a reflection in part of how remote the archipelago is. Reaching it means a roughly one-hour flight from Panama City to Bocas del Toro International Airport, about six kilometers from the hotel, with complimentary transfers included.
