This Caribbean Island Is Getting Its First InterContinental — on a Bay Most Travelers Have Never Heard Of

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts will open InterContinental Grenada Resort & Spa in November 2026, the brand's first property on the island of Grenada. The resort sits on the sheltered shores of La Sagesse Bay, on the island's quieter southeastern coast rather than the well-trodden Grand Anse strip.

The location is part of the pitch. La Sagesse is a calm, secluded bay backed by lush hillsides, and the resort's rooms and suites are designed to echo that landscape, pairing contemporary interiors with the island's culture and character.

Dining spans five venues: Mosaic, an all-day island-inspired restaurant; Coralie, an open-air Mediterranean spot; Solara, a rooftop bar overlooking the ocean; Cove, a pool and spa bar; and Cafe Amber for coffee, pastries and house-made selections. Wellness is a central theme, with an on-site spa, a fitness center outfitted with Pilates reformers and curated relaxation experiences.

Beyond the spa, guests will find water sports, beach activities, culinary and cultural immersions, island adventures and a dedicated Kids Club — a broad enough mix to court both couples and families. To mark the launch, the brand is offering 40 percent off the best available rate for stays through January 2027, bundled with daily breakfast and a welcome cocktail.

For Grenada, the debut is a notable addition to a luxury hotel scene that has grown steadily in the southern Caribbean. Planting a globally recognized flag on a lesser-known bay gives the destination a new anchor property — and gives travelers a reason to look past the islands that usually dominate the winter-escape shortlist.
