Holiday Inn Resort Mesquite Plans More Family Fun, With Timing to Watch
Holiday Inn Resort Mesquite is adding water attractions as renovations continue. A late-2026 target leaves families with opening dates to check before booking.
Holiday Inn Resort Mesquite is working toward a larger family recreation offering as renovations continue at its Nevada property. An October 14 report in The Progress describes plans for a heated lazy river, children's pool and two waterslides. Management is targeting the end of 2026 for renovations, while the report's photo caption points to January 2027 for construction completion. Families should treat those attractions as forthcoming until the resort confirms their opening.
What is changing at the resort?
The water attractions form part of a broader refresh at the property on North Sandhill Boulevard. The local report describes a family pool and hot tub alongside the planned lazy river and slides. For parents, the potential appeal is a stay with more to do on site between sports fixtures, golf outings or trips around the region.
The distinction between the operating hotel and the future recreation offering matters. IHG currently advertises an outdoor pool, hot tub, game room and The Purple Sage restaurant. Those listings support an existing family resort stay, but do not establish that every new attraction in the renovation plans is ready for guests.
When should families expect the new attractions?
The Progress says some operations could take additional time beyond management's late-year target. Its reference to anticipated lifeguard recruitment in early December is another reason to ask about the actual opening schedule rather than relying on the broad completion window.
If a lazy river or waterslide is essential to your trip, get confirmation for your exact travel dates before committing to a restrictive rate. Ask which pools are operating, whether construction changes access and what hours apply. A hotel reservation by itself does not promise that a project described in a news report will be complete when you arrive.
Who is the current resort best suited to?
IHG describes the property as smoke-free and non-gaming, with standard rooms, premium rooms and suites. That makes its positioning different from a holiday centered on a casino floor. Families should still check bed layouts and occupancy carefully, particularly when booking for a team trip or a larger group.
This is not an all-inclusive resort package. Compare the full cost of the room, meals and transport, and ask whether any recreation charges will apply once the new facilities open. For a near-term stay, base the decision on amenities the hotel confirms are operating now. For a later water-focused break, choose booking terms that give you room to respond if the construction timetable changes.
