One of the World's Largest Hotel Chains Just Launched an AI Tool That Could Change How You Book Trips
Hilton is rolling out an AI-powered planner on hilton.com that lets travelers use natural language to search, compare, and explore properties across its global portfolio.
Hilton is betting big on artificial intelligence with the launch of the Hilton AI Planner, a conversational tool that lets travelers search the company's entire global portfolio using natural language instead of traditional filters.
The tool, which begins rolling out to all hilton.com visitors on March 17, works like a digital concierge. Travelers can describe what they're looking for — a beachfront property with a spa in the Caribbean, a family-friendly resort near a golf course — and get curated recommendations with real-time responses. It can also compare properties side by side and surface specific amenity details.
It's a meaningful shift from the standard hotel search experience, where travelers typically filter by destination, date, and price. The AI Planner aims to handle the messier, more conversational way people actually think about trips: "I want somewhere warm in April with good restaurants and a pool."
Hilton is taking a cautious rollout approach, starting with a small percentage of site traffic before expanding based on user feedback and behavior data. The company says it will continuously refine the tool based on real-world usage patterns.
The move puts Hilton at the front of a growing trend. Several major hotel groups have been experimenting with AI-powered search and booking tools, but few have embedded conversational AI directly into their main booking website at this scale.
For resort travelers specifically, the tool could prove useful in navigating Hilton's expanding all-inclusive portfolio, which includes properties across the Caribbean and Mexico. As the brand continues to grow in the all-inclusive space, giving potential guests a smarter way to discover and compare those properties could be a competitive advantage.
