Hilton has launched a new AI-powered trip planning tool that could reshape how guests discover and book hotel stays. Called Hilton AI Planner, the platform combines property-specific content with information about local venues, restaurants, and activities to help travelers plan trips without leaving Hilton's ecosystem.

The tool is built on technology from Anthropic and is part of a broader AI strategy that includes partnerships with Google and OpenAI. Hilton CEO Chris Nassetta called AI one of the greatest productivity opportunities the hospitality industry has ever seen.

What It Does

Hilton AI Planner works by pulling together details about individual properties — room types, amenities, dining options — and layering in local recommendations. The idea is to keep guests engaged within Hilton's platform during the planning phase rather than bouncing between third-party travel sites and review platforms.

Hilton employees are also testing the tool internally to refine the guest experience. The company has not detailed exactly how staff will use the data day-to-day, but the focus appears to be on personalizing stays at scale.

An Industry-Wide Shift

Hilton is far from alone in betting on AI. Marriott has been investing in AI and digital transformation across its core systems, and Wyndham reported earlier that it had deployed AI agents handling guest services at hundreds of hotels globally. The technology race among major hotel companies has accelerated sharply in 2026.

For travelers booking all-inclusive vacations, the implications are significant. AI-powered planning tools could eventually surface personalized resort recommendations, compare package options, and build custom itineraries based on past stays and preferences — making the booking process faster and more tailored than traditional search.
