Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside has partially closed its lobby for refurbishment, with check-in and guest services operating from the far end of the room. WDW News Today's October 24 report describes curtains screening part of the arrival area while the resort continues welcoming guests.

What changes when guests arrive?

The affected section is on the right when entering the main building. Restrooms in that area are closed, with signs directing visitors to facilities at River Roost. The guest mailbox has moved to Fulton's General Store.

Those are practical changes for anyone arriving with luggage, children or a time-sensitive park plan. Allow a little extra time to find the operating desk, and follow the temporary signs rather than relying on a familiar route through the lobby.

Does this mean the resort is closed?

No. The report says resort amenities remain available, alongside the local changes around the lobby. Disney's own Riverside page also carries a construction and refurbishment notice.

A completion date for this specific lobby section has not been established in the report. Guests with an upcoming stay should ask about the arrival route and work affecting their assigned area. Disney also offers online check-in through My Disney Experience, although anyone who needs in-person assistance can still use the staffed desk.
