Disney Lakeshore Lodge Opens Bookings Oct. 8 for Its 967-Room Debut
Walt Disney World named Daydream River at Lakeshore Lodge and opens public bookings Oct. 8 for the 967-room Bay Lake resort debuting July 1, 2027.
Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, Walt Disney World's largest new resort in more than a decade, will open public reservations on Oct. 8, 2026, after Disney Vacation Club members book on Oct. 6 and annual passholders on Oct. 7.
The Bay Lake property is scheduled to welcome guests on July 1, 2027, with 967 rooms, including standalone one- and two-bedroom Lake House A-frames. At a New York media event on Oct. 2, Disney also named the resort's lazy river Daydream River, part of The Wetlands outdoor recreation area, and showed new lobby renderings for Branch & Brush lounge.
What the lobby and lazy river will look like
Imagineering is leaning into nature-set Disney films such as Bambi, Pocahontas, and Encanto. The lobby will use floor-to-ceiling windows, a Colors of the Wind sculpture with hundreds of suspended blown-glass leaves, and a fiber-optic river around a bronze centerpiece. Branch & Brush will overlook Bay Lake with a color-changing chandelier meant to track the seasons, plus cocktails and character-inspired artwork.
Daydream River is the headline recreation detail for families who want a resort pool day without leaving property. Disney has not published full hours, depth, or age rules yet, so treat the Oct. 2 naming as confirmation of the concept rather than a finished operations guide. The Wetlands zone is meant to give the resort a nature-park feel beside the lake rather than a standard rectangular pool deck alone.
How to time your booking
Yolanda Clark Cade of Disney Signature Experiences called Lakeshore Lodge the largest resort Disney has built at Walt Disney World in over a decade, which matters for peak-season inventory. Guests who need specific room types, especially Lake House units, should be ready when their booking window opens rather than waiting for summer 2027 availability to settle.
Reservations open online and by phone for the general public on Oct. 8. Before you lock nonrefundable packages, confirm park ticket needs, transportation between Bay Lake and the theme parks, and whether your preferred room category is actually live in the inventory calendar. The July 1 opening can still shift amenity phasing, so flexible cancellation terms remain the safer play for opening-season stays.
For trip planning, treat Lakeshore Lodge as a full-service Disney resort first and a nature-themed novelty second. The lazy river and lobby art will draw attention, but room location, bus or boat access, and dining hours will decide whether the stay feels convenient for park days.
