The Westin Resort and Spa in Puerto Vallarta has reopened as The Westin Playa Vallarta, an All-Inclusive Resort, marking the brand's first all-inclusive concept in Mexico. The property underwent a full-scale renovation that reshaped its more than 280 rooms and suites, expanded dining to 10 distinct venues, and added new wellness programming throughout the property.

The resort sits in Marina Vallarta on Banderas Bay, lined with more than 300 palm trees along walkways, pools, and the beachfront. Rooms feature the new Westin Heavenly Bed 2.0 across all categories, with higher-end options including Sky Pool Suites with private plunge pools and bay views, and adults-only Swim-Up Junior Suites connected by shallow water channels.

A New Dining Approach

At the center of the resort is Gourmet Gallery, an open-air dining complex with 10 food and drink concepts. The lineup includes Agave Studio for mezcal tastings and pairings, Tanto for Japanese cuisine, Palma for Caribbean and Latin flavors, Call Me Lalo Taqueria for street-style tacos, and Flora Bar for botanical cocktails. The approach favors smaller, more focused venues over the traditional large-buffet all-inclusive model.

Wellness Runs Through the Property

Daily programming includes sunrise yoga, sound healing, meditation, aqua fitness, paddleboarding, and kayaking. The Heavenly Spa by Westin offers hydrotherapy circuits and aromatherapy treatments, while new pickleball and padel courts round out the outdoor activities. A mapped running route extends along the Marina Vallarta shoreline.

Cultural programming includes Wixarika art sessions, Alebrijes painting workshops, and evening events ranging from live Latin music to silent DJ nights.

Rates start at around $301 per night all-inclusive. The property adds another upscale option to Puerto Vallarta's growing all-inclusive market, competing with the wave of new resorts transforming Mexico's Pacific coast.
