InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa has rolled out a major expansion of its wellness, dining, and bar offerings — cementing its position as the Caribbean's most ambitious nature-forward luxury property.

The centerpiece is the new Téya Wellness Sanctuary, a full-scale spa facility rooted in locally sourced treatments. Signature offerings include the Téya Dosha Ritual, which blends Ayurvedic practices with Dominican herbal traditions. Guests can book moringa and turmeric scrubs, volcanic earth wraps using mineral-rich island clay, saltwater therapies, and open-air Shirodhara sessions overlooking the ocean.

On the dining side, the resort debuted Saltwood, a Mediterranean-focused restaurant built around a wood-fired grill. The menu spotlights whole fish, premium cuts, and seasonally sourced local produce prepared with Mediterranean techniques — a departure from the typical Caribbean buffet model.

43 Bush Rums and Counting

Perhaps the most distinctive addition is the expansion of the resort's RumFire Bar, which now stocks 43 different bush rums — reportedly the most extensive collection on the island. These infused spirits feature local fruits, spices, and herbs. Standout cocktails include the Fire Pit, made with sorrel rum and coconut water, and the Coco Field, blending coconut bush rum with Myers's rum and coconut cream.

The resort has also added pickleball courts, upgraded paddleboards, glass-bottom kayaks, and a regular schedule of pilates, yoga, and recovery sessions. Beginning summer 2026, a new all-day dining concept called Pure Heat will serve small plates alongside an expanded wine, beer, and spirits program through September.

Rates start under $319 per night in May, making it one of the more accessible luxury options in the Lesser Antilles.
