Caribbean Hotels Just Posted Their Strongest Revenue Numbers in Years — and the Gains Keep Accelerating
New STR data shows Caribbean hotel occupancy, rates, and RevPAR all climbed through the first four months of 2026.
Caribbean hotels are having a very strong 2026, and the numbers are getting better with each passing month.
New data from hotel analytics firm STR shows that occupancy, average daily rates, and revenue per available room all climbed across the region through the first four months of the year, with March delivering the strongest performance so far.
March produced 79.6 percent occupancy across the Caribbean, up 6.3 percent compared to March 2025. April followed at 73.9 percent, a 5.8 percent year-over-year gain. Average daily rates held above $394 every month this year, peaking at $460.45 in March.
Revenue Growth Accelerating
RevPAR — one of the hotel industry's most closely watched metrics — rose sharply across the region. January RevPAR came in at $321.98, up 9.3 percent year over year. February hit $350.36 (up 10.6 percent), and March climbed to $366.51, a 12.3 percent jump over the same month last year. April RevPAR reached $291.74, up 7.1 percent.
Total room revenue tells the same story. Caribbean hotels generated roughly $2.69 billion in January, $2.64 billion in February, and more than $3.03 billion in March — a 10.3 percent increase over March 2025. April brought in approximately $2.34 billion, up 5 percent year over year.
The gains are coming even as room supply continues to expand. Major resort development activity is underway in The Bahamas, Jamaica, Aruba, Curaçao, and the Dominican Republic, with new all-inclusive and luxury properties adding thousands of rooms to the regional inventory.
Demand has stayed resilient heading into summer, supported by continued airlift growth from the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Several major airlines have added new Caribbean routes and increased frequencies in recent months, particularly to destinations with strong resort sectors.
STR's Caribbean census included just over 2,068 hotel properties and approximately 267,574 rooms in April 2026.
